Keep ya up on whats going on

May 26th 2006

Sorry it's been a while since I've messed with this website
At times I wonder who really cares or checks it

I turned 41 May 6th 2006
I had an enjoyable birthday
The show at Rob's Billiard's was.....emotional
My mother and her best friend of 45 years showed up
Several people I love were there, as well as a few who I love were not able to make it
"Circumstances"
Phantom-X is a great band and what I am about to type is not intended to be disrespectful to the members
I reformed Deja Vu for my birthday as well as had some good friends join us to jamn some songs
Rick Z, whom I first played with when I was 15 got up to sing two songs with us
Like old times it's that grin of enjoyment we share at the time we both know "This is kickin' ass"
Our friendship has def had it's trials and I'm glad it's still a friendship
Kevin Terry of Tornado Alley got up and told a Golf story before he sang with us
My 320 yard drive across a lake in Grand Prairie
He and I spend quite a bit of time on the local Golf courses
Rob, the owner gave me a childs golf club full of gum balls!! LOL

There was also a group of high school friends and many others who attended
Most all were awaiting the FRAMPTON talkbox song we do
Do You Feel Like We Do
As soon as I hit the first few notes the room became vividly electric
The facial expressions were wonderful
Mike and Terry kept the groove and the FEEL right on the money
It's such a joy to play with them

I don't know if I can describe the feeling of Peace and Freedom that I felt while I wailed out the solo's
knowing I could go on as long as I wanted and they would follow
As soon as we hit the final note and said Thanx Good night
I walked over to the side of the stage put my guitar down and stood by the exit door
I was so overwhelmed with......emotions.....I cried
Not just a facial cry but a deep whole body cry
Kevin Terry came over to to talk but stopped in mid sentence when he saw me look up covered in tears
I looked at him and said " Dude....I really needed that "

Yes it was a nice birthday

Thanx to everyone who attended

Helped make it happen:

Mike Freed " Crackhead Bob "
Terry Sims " Jeiger ? "
Rob " No Slice ! "
Larry Harless " 420 Smile "
Craig Zerba " We're gonna audition a new singer tonight.....is that ok ? "
Ricky Zimmerman " I Can't Git Her Outta Da House ! "
Randy Bell " Hey Brau......"
Kevin Terry " Wanna Beer ? "
Kirk " The KirkeNator "

Swamped
Been super busy with work, band, Music for HBO, and a buncha other stuff
It's been so crazy I have to remind myself to eat and bathe
Good thing I live alone huh??
LOL
I was gonna wait to post these pictures, but here ya go
Me with MOTORHEAD Metal God Lemmy Kilmeister in Hollywood having drinks !!
Look at the shirt I'm wearing !??

April 6th 2006

If you read down a few posts you'll see where I did the opening for Alex Reymundo
during the shooting of his HBO and Comedy Central filming
That has now developed into me doing the music score for the whole Movie-DVD
That means all of the music on the Movie-DVD will be written and recorded by me !
Ain't that kick ass ??
Whats even an additional bit of coolness
is going to the Hollywood Paramount Movie Studio's in a few days
to see some of the footage and discuss the music
Maybe I'll invest in a camera between now and then??
I should have before last night when I was hangin' with
Alex and comedian Ron " Tater Salad " White
Ron is known mainly for his part of " The Blue Collar Comedy Tour "
with Larry The Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy
We were on Ron's bus as he was showing us his new 420 toys
It was loads of fun !! haha

March 30th 2006

Phantom-X is currently rehearsing and writing songs for the new album
Seems the record label is pushing for another release later in the year
and wants the thing completed by JUNE first !!
My reaction was " Is he smokin' Crack ??"and " Good Luck with that "
We didn't have anything written when we got the news
We are up to five songs now and will be playing a couple of them Saturday night
We have a few out of town gigs coming up and do another tour of
Europe in September

Disclaimer: I had a buzz ok??

In A Shot Glass
Mix one shot of Real German Jeigermeister ( not USA kind )

Add a large 'pinch' of Blue Bell Fudge bar
Let it melt a bit into the Jeigar
Choose for yourself when it looks like it's ready to be drank
And Git'er Down

Now tell me that ain't damn yummy ?!!!!

Don't dig It ??

Disclaimer: I had a buzz ok??

Februrary 28th 2006

Terry's Mom passed away on the 24th
No more pain and now she can go be with God
Rest in Peace

February 12th 2006

Got a call yesterday from comedian Alex Reymundo asking me for help !
Alex is a touring comedian who has been on the road with the likes of Cheech Marin
Paul Rodriguez, George Lopez, and many others
They made a movie your can rent from Blockbuster called
"The Latin Kings Of Comedy"
Anyhow Alex is shooting a movie for HBO and Comedy Central and asked me to open the show for him !
Seems that I will be flown to Albuquerque New Mexico and will play guitar on stage as his introduction music
I'm working on the music now, spanish sounding at first then hard rockin !
This will sure be a great plug for myself and Phantom-X
And ! a chance to hang out and party again with Alex who has been a friend since high school

January 24th 2006

Terry's mother has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer
She was given two months to live
After 40 years of smoking this is the result
I guess I don't really need to go on my soapbox about smoking
Everyone should already know that you are not smoking the cigarette; it's smoking you

Terry contacted me and asked that Deja Vu go to her bedside and do an acoustical performance
We shall do this Feb 4th during the day
I can only imagine how emotional it is going to be

January 10th 2006

YES I have finally updated photo's and sounds on here
Several pages have new pictures...and I'm not done yet
Be sure to have your sound up...the audio on this page...well..
makes me weep....very powerful...passionate.

January 7th 2006

Ok so I wonder how many people actually read that? LOL

I DID have someone mention it and laugh
Well after returning from Europe I had a real tough time adjusting back
to my regular schedule
Those who know me actually know I don't have one
I actually woke up in the middle of the night thinking I was still in Germany
I looked around the room wondering where I was
Looked for lamps and didn't see any
I didn't hear any snoring or road/wind noise that I had gotten used to
So I crawled off the end of the bed over and to the window
I opened the blinds and looked out
STILL had no idea where I was
So I looked back into the bedroom and saw my box fan on the floor going at full speed
THATS when I realized and said to myself
"You dumbass your at home"

I've got a lot of photos sent to me from promotors and others
I will post quite a few soon
I was also considering making a zip file of the photo's available to be downloaded
It would be faster to see all of them wouldn't it??

November 14th from Amsterdam

I am only updating the SOAPBOX right now
Please read all the stuff from that page
Internet access and time is limited for me over here
Cheers !!

October 24th 2005

Well we are down to 6 days before we leave for Europe
Be sure to check the SOAPBOX page for tour diary entries while I am gone
Either I'll be logging on or I will have someone update the website for me with "Stories From The Road"
It should be rather interesting

Since I won't be home for Halloween (Will be in Milan Italy)
I thought I'd share a picture
LOL
The below picture is from last years Halloween costume
Which was so realistic it really freaked a lot of folks out
It's my real hair and beard

AND I was invited to a Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Party this past weekend
I was the only person who showed up as Frankenfurter
YES I know it's quite sick to even think of putting a photo of myself
up on this website dressed as a Sweet Transvestite from Transexual Transylvania
So I won't !! LOL

October 18th 2005

The Chicago White Sox are in the World Series ! how cool
It's looking like the Houston Astro's might actually be in it as well
That would be way cool since a World Series Game has never ever been played in the state of Texas??!!!

That's what I'm hoping for

The band ??
Spinal Tap moments have already appeared haha
I'm hoping I don't forget to pack anything
and to remember to remove the milk from the fridge
when I leave, so it isn't cottage cheese when I return!

October 3rd 2005

Well two more local shows before we hop the big pond to rock the Europeans and others
Whats rather interesting, in London, Phantom-X has the #1, the #5 and the #12 most played songs
We are also the top 10 most played artists, holding the #5 slot for several weeks now
Top artists are #1 Judas Priest, #2 Iron Maiden, #3 Y&T , and #4 All That Remains
That's some damn good company to be in especially when Queensryche is #12 and Metallica is #26
The ratings sheet is listed on the Phantom-X site if ya care to give it a look
Somebody over there must like us?!!
Spain and Ireland have also been added to the tour stops
(are we gonna ever sleep ?)
I sure hope they serve good Tex-Mex over there LOL
Yeah Right !!

Sept 16th 2005

I've been meaning to load this picture and tell the story but for some reason I never got around to it
That's bad since it's really cool, at least to me
This is a long but cool story, ask me in person sometimes
In July I met Rene Martinez
That name, for most, probably doesn't ring any bells
But the names of the guitar players he's worked for
is quite impressive
Stevie Ray Vaughn (for 15 years), Carlos Santana, Eric Knudson
Now how did my name get in there ?? LOL
Well that's the long cool story over a beer
I was very excited and honored to have met him
let alone have him work on my guitar and allow me to endorse his line of guitar strings
He's also worked on Glenn's bass
Last I heard he was back out with Carlos or possibly with Jimmy Vaughn
Maybe one day he'll be on tour with Phantom-X
If we could afford him !!
The picture below is us together in his living room the day I picked up my guitar
Between what he and Dennis Kelley did to this guitar
It screams louder than my mother yelling
"Turn that shit down!" when I was a kid playing in my room
Has the fattest warm tone
and the frets play "Like Butta"

Sept 11th 2005

Sleep deprivation !!
Since time is of the essence to complete the two music videos for MTV Europe
I've gone non stop for 3 days now
The footage is looking great
We are looking forward to the editing being completed
Here is a still shot of me doing the spanish guitar during the song "Enchanted"

Sept 7 2005

On Labor Day Phantom X shot our first video
Doing it was really really cool because we shot it in the Tarrant County Convention Center Arena!!
This is where I went to see my very first concert in 1978
It was The Baby's & Alice Cooper
So doing a video shoot in here, expecially the fact I dig Fort Worth WAY more than Dallas, was a great experience
The video will be sent over to MTV Europe when the editing is finished
Here's a few pictures

August 22 2005

I received notification today that my band Phantom X
will be playing Dracula's Castle
It's located in Transylvania Bulgaria
That's just damn cool to find out especially
on a day I could have really used some good news

http://www.aboutromania.com/brancastle.html

August 10 2005

Whomever keeps surfing my site from Amsterdam, why dont you e-mail me?
We will be playing just south of you in Rotterdam this November and we can meet

The gigs over this past weekend at The Axis and O'Riley's were our best
Axis is a very nice venue with a great stage, P.A., Lights, load in-out
The gig went very well and was a lot of fun
They have a big backstage area with dressing rooms and a place to set your gear up to get ready to move it on the stage
There were only two problems
Too many people backstage milling around
and compensation for services rendered
!!Other bands beware of this!!
We have taken actions to get ours

O'Riley's Saturday night was a blast
We all went next door to eat at the British Rose and decided
we would all sing karaoke
LOL !!
Partridge Family, 3 Dog Night, Tom Jones, Jimmy Buffet, Lizza Mannelli
Best performance was Glenn's version of Henry The VIII
We fell out laughing!!
The show we did was high NRG and went great
So we all had an all night pool party afterwards
Musta been 25 people in underwear, bra's and panties all jumpin in the pool
I also was given an advanced copy of The Hillbilly Orchestra CD by Mongo that night
It's damn good
I've added a link to their site under NEAT STUFF

The European Tour is shaping up well
There are links to some of the venues on the Phantom X site
I just saw this one today: http://www.abart.ch/
It's in Switzerland
Looks like they have top bands there and it's a damn killer place
I'm looking forward to showing the swiss how an American born
Viking can kick some serious rock n roll ass with his buddies

Aug 2 2005

I was informed today that Phantom-X was asked to be included on the website celebrityaccess.com
I found silly humor in that actually

On a much more cool note
Paul Di'Anno, the original singer of Iron Maiden, will be joining Phantom-X on stage in Scotland
to sing ' Remember Tommorrow ' from the first Maiden album
Now that IS cool!
I'd also like to perform 'Wrathchild'
Maybe we can squeeze that one in as well

July 23 2005

As you can tell I am making changes to the website
Now that I am with Phantom X, under contract, preparing to tour
there is just no time to try & book DEJA VU
Both Terry and Mike are busy playing in Bad Karma also
So even if we wanted to try to get a gig, we would have to book around the two bands
spend several days rehearsing, blah blah whine whine

We are all supportive of eachother and still remain great friends
I will now convert the site to a personal site

www.ericknudson.net

I should have that domain name up and running fairly soon
Both dejavukicksass.com & ericknudson.net will point to the same space you are visiting now

I intend on trying to do a Tour Diary
While I am on tour in Europe, I will be keeping a daily journal of all the events
So while I am on tour, you can log on here and read whats going on
WHILE it's going on

Nuff for now, Rock On !!

July 21 2005

My newest band, PHANTOM X, has signed a record deal
More news soon

July 9th 2005

The record contract offer has arrived
Seems the label thought the rough draft cd
was great and can't wait to hear the final mixed version
We did some additional backing vocals and little 'extra gravy' parts the other night
The mixdown will be next week, and the final cd will be shipped to the label August 15th
After that we'll see where it can be purchased
We will also beat the shit outta whomever places mp3's out on the net to be downloaded
I think I see a soapbox subject popping up on that one!!

June 22 2005

The mp3's up on the Phantom X website (www.phantom-x.net) are rough mix versions
In fact my guitar tracks are not what will be on the final CD
The solo's are though
A second engineer had to do the rough mixes, not knowing
where the actual final guitar tracks were placed by the primary engineer (Pro Tools is complicated)
I'm really proud of the work we all did on it
I'll get a cd tommorrow of all 11 songs to check out
We will soon go back to the studio to do the final mixdown and mastering
I think it's up to the record label at this point

June 12 2005

Went to Hot Rods & Hogs to see Bad Karma (Terry & Mike's other band)
Got up and played a couple of tunes with just the 3 of us
Was fun and I think the manager might look into a future gig for DEJA VU after what he heard

June 7 2005

Well the first gig with Phantom X went real well
Terry came out to watch as well
I heard later that the Phantom X drummer was kinda nervous Terry was there
Thats kinda funny, but also a backhand compliment I think
He knows Terry is bad ass and wouldn't be nervous if he thought Terry was lame, ya know ?
There are some posted comments on the Phantom X website under GUESTBOOK
www.phantom-x.net
The Mp3's on that site are not me as of yet
If you look at some of my pictures you'll notice that the webmaster removed
the LOVE sticker on my guitar before he posted the picture on the site
Kinda funny I guess, since METAL means hate or angry music
I'm just not angry or hate LOL

A Copy and Paste From

NEONBLONDE.COM

Had a great time hangin with the guys in Phantom X and Muthalode Friday night! Stay tuned for pixs and welcoming Phantom X guitarist Eric Knudson (Deja Vu) to the fold! He absolutely rocked the hell out of the place...he's an exceptional guitar player! Way to go, Eric!
